I’ve always loved the rain. I can still remember when I was 7 and how I would love playing outside in the down pour. Most kids love this I know but I never grew out of it. While most people are running for their cars, homes, stores, or wherever to get out of the rain, I actually walk slower than usual all the while taking in the natural wonder of rainfall.
It doesn’t rain often here in Monterey but when it does one thing is for certain…GORGEOUS Sunsets!!! Don’t miss them, even if it means watching them from your car. Head out to Pacific Grove and hit Sunset Blvd (wonder why it’s named that…) near Asilomar. It is one of the best places to catch the sunset in your car or otherwise. If you’re like me and need to be out and about don’t forget your hoodie sweatshirt, windbreaker, beanie, and yes gloves. It gets cold here, especially from the wind chill when you’re on the beach!
I took this photo yesterday evening in Pacific Grove shortly after the sun went down and it didn’t turn out too bad.
I just missed the sun being low in the sky by 15 minutes as I arrived too late due to traffic.
Be at your sunset viewing spot roughly 45 minutes before sundown. This will give plenty of time to find parking and to really relax and ease into one of our many daily miracles.
